Hackwagon Academy was founded by a group of passionate tech leaders, and entrepreneurs who are highly experienced in the startup and tech scene. At Hackwagon, we believe in cultivating a fun place to work, where people can bring out the best in themselves. Our team genuinely cares about tech education, and in sparking passion in our students in the world of technology. IAN LAM, DIRECTOR
FORMER : CO-FOUNDER AT COHESION SG & EARLY CODERS ACADEMY
Ian is currently one of the investors within the Hackwagon team. He has had prior experience in managing a programming education school, Early Coders Academy which specialises in teaching web development to youths and adults.
Within his portfolio, includes Sunday Roast, a BBQ wholesale company that serves only premium meat to consumers within Singapore as well as Cohesion Pte. Ltd. which he has raised to become a company that managing over 400 events annually.
JARYL SIM, ACADEMIC & EXAMINATIONS BOARD
FORMER : CO-FOUNDER AT TINKERBOX STUDIOS
Jaryl started his programming journey when he was just 14, learning C/C++ to pursue his interest in game development. He eventually grew out of that and learned about web development, using Java and .Net platforms.
Today, Jaryl is the founder of Tinkerbox Studios, which he built from zero whilst pursuing his degree at Singapore Management University. Tinkerbox has grown from just 2 developers, to a mid-size development house 20-strong. Today, they help startups build web applications using Ruby on Rails and React JS, and native mobile apps using Swift and Kotlin. Part of their methodology includes using Lean UX and Lean Startup methods to build apps in a way that works for startups.
KONG YU JIAN, ACADEMIC & EXAMINATIONS BOARD
FORMER : CO-FOUNDER AT EARLY CODERS ACADEMY
Yu Jian started his programming journey by picking up game development in C# when he was 17. Inspired by the successes of Rovio (which created Angry Birds), he decided to pursue game development, and eventually launched his first mobile game half a year later.
Along the way, he picked up web development, and fast-forward one and a half years later, he won his first hackathon, having built a mobile application that features a secure NFC login amongst other features. He then went on to snag first places in other hackathons that were jointly held by IMDA and PayPal respectively. With these credentials, he went on to found Early Coders Academy to provide programming education for youths, specialising in technologies such as Node.JS, Express.JS, MongoDB and React.JS.

Hackwagon Academy validates its curriculum with industry partners in order to bring you the most industry relevant education, to help you in your career!
• ADMISSIONS •
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. At Hackwagon Academy, students master technological skills by building products modelled after industry requirements. At the end of the learning journey, Hackwagon students will be highly employable with equally highly relevant technological skills.
